Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Lijiang
Airport pickup and transfer to your hotel in Lijiang Ancient City. Rest and acclimatize to the 2,400 m altitude. Evening: stroll the old town’s canals and Sifang Street. Overnight in Lijiang.
Day 2 – Lijiang to Feilaisi via Tiger Leaping Gorge
Morning: drive along the Jinsha River to the Tiger Leaping Gorge — walk the upper trail for the classic view of the roaring river between 3,900 m cliffs. Continue past the Jinsha River First Bend to Feilaisi, the viewpoint village facing Meili Snow Mountain. Overnight at Feilaisi.
Day 3 – Golden Sunrise & Meili to Shangri-La
Dawn: watch the sun paint the Kawagarbo peak gold — the moment every photographer waits for (weather permitting). Then drive over the pass to Shangri-La. Afternoon: explore Dukezong Ancient Town and spin the world’s largest prayer wheel. Overnight in Shangri-La.
Day 4 – Pudacuo National Park & Return to Lijiang
Morning: Pudacuo National Park — alpine lakes, wetlands and forests at 3,500 m, with boardwalk trails and shuttle buses. Afternoon: stop at the Xiaozhongdian flower meadows en route back to Lijiang. Overnight in Lijiang.
Day 5 – Lijiang to Lugu Lake
Drive the dramatic Lining Eighteen Bends road to Lugu Lake (about 4 hours). Afternoon: cruise the lake to see the islands and the goddess temple, then watch sunset over the water. Overnight at Lugu Lake.
Day 6 – Lugu Lake Loop & Return to Lijiang
Morning: complete the lake circuit — Mosuo villages, the love-rail bridge and panoramic viewpoints. Afternoon: return to Lijiang. Overnight in Lijiang.
Day 7 – Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
